NEWS FROM TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

The TTVA held two General Meetings for the year. The first was held on March 22, 2018 at Amphitheatre B, EWMSC, Mt. Hope. Here we presented Sagicor's Group Health Plan. This year we held exciting discussions with them to do a Group Health Plan for TTVA members. Thus far it has been successful, but due to paper work and the upcoming election of a new executive we have postponed starting it.

The second General Meeting was held on July 5, 2018 in Amphitheatre A, EWMSC, Mt. Hope. Here we had an update on the Sagicor's Group Health Plan. We also had a presentation by Dr. Pow-Brown on her work with local ticks and tick-borne diseases. Finally we had a very interesting talk by Professor Garcia about Neo-tropical animals (the concept, the lack of knowledge, present work being done and future work to be done).

World Veterinary Day, in April, was held in the carousel park in MovieTowne. We had booths from Purina, Sagicor and the El Socorro Centre for Wildlife Conservation. We also hired a clown to do face painting and balloon animals to attract the children.
